Joshua's Eyes Says It All

Goodnight to all it has been a long time since we have sent out an update about Joshua and how he is doing. The last update was sent when we celebrated Joshua being out of the hospital for one year. In four weeks we will celebrate Joshua’s second birthday on June 10th. In recent weeks we have learned that Joshua had a minor stroke, he has fully recovered, and last week he had some stomach issues. This email is not to focus on what has been wrong because God is still in control and we thank him daily for grace and favor on Joshua’s life. He has said that Joshua will be restored through many of his mouth piece and Patrice and I only needs be obedient to God and he will do the rest.
The reason for this update is to focus on how Joshua communicates with us on a daily basis. Joshua has his stubborn ways, there are only certain programs that he will watch on television and if he does not wish to see a particular program he will not look at the television or he will go to sleep. Joshua watch nick junior daily, yesterday while Patrice was on the computer one of those shows Joshua does not like was on. When Patrice turned around Joshua was steering at her and then began to look at the television and back at Patrice continually until Patrice realizes that she needed to change the channel.
Later that evening after Joshua’s nurse gave him a bath, and was changing his pulse ox probe on his toe. The machine began to beep like it would if Joshua was in distress. I realize that Patrice was in the Parking lot and if she heard the machine she would break her neck trying to get into the house to help. When I came to the front door to inform her that everything was ok, Joshua was staring at me, and as I asked him if he need something he looked over his shoulder at the pulse ox and then back at me twice. I soon recognize that Joshua was aware that when the machine goes off someone would come to help him and he was informing me that I need to come see what was wrong with the machine.
Joshua is growing up and is communicating more and more. I thank God daily for the wonderful little boy that he has given us to care for and we seek him daily for the direction and the guidance in raising this little boy the way that he would like him to be raised.
Joshua has traveled with his sister to two dance competition in Lakeland and enjoyed the travel and the stay in the hotel. I give God thanks for your continuous prayer for us and would like you to know that it is not in vain.
