One year since Joshua came home

Yesterday we passed a milestone; Joshua celebrates one full year since he was released from the hospital. We are so blessed; it was not thought that he would stay out of the hospital this long without going back because of his disease. Joshua has experience a lot of things this year, he had 4 major ear infections the first three one right after the other. On January 13th his chair turned over with him inside on his way to daycare, no harm, “thanks be to Jesus”. That morning I got up and the Lord said to go on a fast (as I put something in my mouth I had to spit it out). Later when I got the phone call, I cried but I had to remember to give God the praise, because he is still in control. There are days that Joshua’s Oxygen has gone down as low as 29 at daycare, but we trust that God will take care of him. Joshua now as a vest (brace), his scoliosis is now at 42 degrees. Through it all Joshua remains smiling, he has gained some of his strength back, and he is now able to move his wrists back and forth, move both his knee from side to side and move his toes slightly. We give thanks for all the prayers that have been sent up and are still going up for Joshua’s healing. I believe that we are so close to a cure, there are so many studies going on with different medications that show some positive results, we hope the SMA Treatment Acceleration Act is passed in congress, which will allow information to be shared from all the clinical studies and more funds will be available for research.
